Seeds Of Greatness

1. The Seed of Self-Esteem (Appreciate the value of yourself)
"From self-love to self-worth"

This seed is trying to tells that we have to value our selves. There are many people who do not value them selves and that is not a positive thing to help them boost their self esteem. For example, for girls or guys who have a little extra weigh on them they don't value them selves, they say they are fat. That is  not valuing yourselves. You are the way you are and if people do not appreciate t hat then those people are not the appropriate people you should be spending your time with. True friends help you feel you are unique and they tell you that being different is okay. Yes, there are people who will bring you down but you  have to show them that you are stronger than them. Show them you are stronger than them by showing them that you value yourself. That will make them stop making fun of you for whatever reason. Show them you value yourself and that will make people look up to you. They will see that you have a good self-esteem. That is a great thing to have.

I will apply this by valuing myself the way I am because  there is probably someone out there wishing they had the things I have.

2. The Seed of Creativity
"Releasing creative energy."

This seed is trying to tell us that we have express our creativeness. We have to express our ideas. Not everyone thinks the same so you make have better idea than others. Sometimes people are not looking for a better idea. Some are just trying to get lots of different ideas to make it all into one great one. Don't be embarrassed about expressing your thoughts. Some times others may have a better idea. Don't feel bad about it. It's okay. You can learn from that, don't take it in a bad way. No one is perfect, everyone thinks differently. Yes, there are people who put other people down because of their ideas but that is not right. It might be hard for others to express their ideas but that has to improve. In a career people have to work together and express their different ideas to make the work place function properly.

I will apply this by expressing my ideas in class with my classmates when we are doing a project and ask for everyone's ideas to make a great project that includes all of my group member's participation.

3. The Seed of Responsibility
"Whatever we sow, we reap."

What this seed is trying to tell us is that we have to be responsible then we will face the consequences. It is really important to be responsible. For example, if you accept a college and you pay your confirmation but you do not go to the orientation because you were not responsible in paying for it then you will get withdrawn and you will not be able to attend the college you accepted. That is a big responsibility. If you are not responsible enough then get someone to help you. People can help you but at some point in life you will be ion your own. You will have to take care of important things on your own because your mom or counselor are not always going  to be there to do things for you. Being responsible can really help you. You will be organized because you will be responsible and you will know where you place things such as important documents. You can get in a lot of trouble if you are not responsible. One example of this is when you have to go to court but you do not show up on time and they no longer let you in or you forget that you had to go to court that day. That can lead you into going to jail, just because you were not responsible in reminding yourself that you had court that day for whatever reason. Being responsible is something that will help you a lot as you grown into and adult and while you are one as well.

I will apply this by keeping all of my homework assignments in one place and well organized so that I won't have to be looking all of over the place to find them.

4. The Seed of Wisdom
"A large vocabulary-which implies broad, general knowledge-characterizes the more successful persons, regardless of their occupations."

What this seed is trying to tell us is that intelligence is very important. Intelligence does not just mean being smart. Intelligence has many more things to it. People get intelligent through experience. People learn from what they do right or wrong and become intelligent on that particular thing. Some people do consider intelligence to be only being smart. That is incorrect. Knowing common sense things is intelligence. Knowing what is best for you and doing those things instead of doing what you know is not the best for you. In order to do things and have experience you need to have patience and put the time into it. If you have more experience then there will be more doors that may open for you. You will have more opportunities coming your way because of your intelligence.

I will apply this by reading more a day and learning at lase 2 new words every day.

5. The Seed of Purpose
"The gold mine in your goals."

What this seed is trying to tell us is that we should know why we are doing what we are doing. For example, when you are finishing your finals and you want to give up, remember why you want to do good. That will help motivate you. It is hard sometimes. You have to push through and keep trying. Don't give up because if you are doing something you are doing it for a reason. Remember that reason. If you keep on remembering that reason then you will always be motivated to finishing that specify thing. Some things may be more difficult than others. Some things may be too difficult and you may think you can not do it. That is not the right thing to think about. Keep a positive attitude and think of your reasons.

I will apply this by thinking of why I want to graduating, attend college, and have a career so that it can motivate me.

6.The Seed of Communication
"Reach out and tour someone"

What this seed is trying to tell us is that we have to talk to others and build relationships. That will help you get many opportunities. It will open up many doors. It may make you feel weird but think of it in a positive way. It may not be easy for you. It may be easy for you. Everyone is different. Talking and meeting new people is really fun. You get to build big and little relationships. It really is nice having friends or people by your side. They can really help in the bad times when you need someone e to talk to. You need to have patience and be respectful.

I will apply this by going out of my comfort zone and meeting and talking to new people in college.

7. Faith
"The power of positive believing."

What this seed is trying to tell us is that we need to believe in yourself. You need to believe in what you are doing. If you do not believe you can accomplish something then you most likely wont. You need to have that positive mind set. For example, I told myself that I will go the a University after high school and I believed it through my four years in high school and it came true. I will be attending California State University Los Angeles. Having faith does not always me religiously. You need to keep what you want to accomplish in mind and have faith in it. You also have to work for it but believe you can do it. Some people do not have faith and that is why most of them go through many hardships. It will take some time for you to set your mind to have faith in what you do. You have to be patient. It will all work out. Have faith in what you do and that faith will help you achieve your goals.

I will apply this by believing I can graduate from college and have the wonderful career of my choice.

8. The Seed of Adaptability

"Turning problems into opportunities."

What this seed is trying to tell us is that we have to get the best out of any situations. The situation may be bad. It may be good. No matter what it is, always try to get something positive out of it. There may be situations you do not expect. You can make the situation a good one or a bad one. It all depends on how you view it. It may be difficult. You need to have motivation. You may ask others to help you find good thing in a situation. Get things out of it. Try to look at situations in a better way. Make it the situation you want to take advantage of in a positive way.

I will apply this by going along with any situation I face and getting out anything positive from it.

9. The seed of Perseverance "The will to win is everything"
Persistence: "Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not: the word is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent." (Calvin Coolidge)

What this seed is trying to tell us is that we have to want it in order to get it. If you work until you get it you will feel great about it. Don't give up on what you want. If you don't fight for it you won't get it. You need to keep it in your mind. Think about it. Don't think negative. Just go for it. Go over your obstacles. It may not be easy. Just work through it. It will be worth it once you obtain it.

10. The Seed of Perspective
"Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude."

What this seed is trying to tell us is that we have to not only focus on what we think. We should listen and acknowledge others thoughts too. Sometimes other people's thoughts can help us a lot.  We can learn many things. For example, when your doing a project in your physics class and you have to do a project you should listen to how others think is the best way. That will help you revise your thought and make it better. You may not agree with others perspective. It will take patience. You can start doing that by just staying quiet why someone is talking about their ideas. Don't be disrespectful. Try out other peoples ideas to make your ideas better.
